ON HELPING DEPRESSED PEOPLE W/ KAIA

Episode Slide (20).png

Depression stinks. It’s never welcome.

The thing about depression is that once it shows up, nothing else matters.

The other thing about depression is that you don’t get PTO or bereavement for such a thing.

Unless you’re hospitalized, people get weird when you announce that depression has made its annual or bi-annual appearance. Per society, the only thing that’s allowed to make a bi-annual appearance in my experience is a Victoria’s Secret sale.

Anyway, society expects that you can and will just continue on with your normal programming while fending off Sleepy, Grumpy, and straight up Mopey (not real, but you understand).

This interim episode is one that I felt compelled to share. As much as I’ve pulled back, there are many who have reached out, spoken up, and made their presence, love, and care very known to me — in spite of the thousands upon thousands of miles that separate us all.

That said, I wanted to share some of the things I’ve heard over the last few weeks that have really touched me, and lifted me up. [You can listen anywhere you get your podcasts, or directly via Buzzsprout.]

I thought these words might be an encouragement to those of you who have people in your life that experiencing a pain you cannot heal, cannot see, cannot touch or taste, or lift.

Warmly,

Kaia
