ON TREATING PEOPLE LIKE ACTUAL PEOPLE W/ KAIA

I’m sure that if I asked you when the last time was that someone expected you to respond faster than you actually did, you’ll tell me about something that happened last week.

We are under constant pressure to

respond, respond, respond

react, react, react

give, give, give.

I’ve become exhausted by the constant need to establish, re-establish, and remind people of my boundaries and of my innate humanness — and I know I’m guilty of putting this kind of pressure on others.

Well, Yung Pueblo recently shared a post that got me thinking about all of this, which is the focus of our dialogue in this episode.
